Heritage Society

We started off in November2002 with the request in George Freeston’s will, leaving an amount of money to continue his work regarding our village’s heritage.  With the help of his executors, our first meeting was held. George did not want the society to be named after him, so eventually it was decided it should be called “Blisworth Heritage Society”

We are a very active group with objectives including

  • opportunities to share and explore an interest in the heritage of Blisworth and its surrounding area.
  • research and raise awareness in Blisworth heritage.
  • provision of a programme of activities, including talks, on a range of appropriate topics.
  • display and publish material to as many people as is practical

There is an excellent leaflet “Discover Blisworth Heritage Walks’ available in the village hall or by contacting a Heritage Society member
