The WI team, supported by the parish council and other village organisations had submitted a superb entry and then we were scrutinised. The Judges visited on the 27th April eager to learn about us.   So many people put in a great effort to make the two and a half hour visit action and information packed.  We did our best and then the wait…..

18th July – announcement day.  The awards ceremony was at the ACRE HQ in Hunsbury.  Four of our prime movers were there, listening and hoping.  The announcement came for the best middle sized village – and we won.  Then another nail-biting wait for the top prize – the best village overall.  And we won that too.  Janet had to be pealed off the ceiling, and the rest of the group were so ecstatic they hardly knew what was going on.

Blisworth village deserved every bit of the recognition for being such a great community.  Everyone of those who helps to make our village so fantastic should be proud of what they do.
